AMPYR Solar Europe and VW Kraftwerk GmbH Sign Renewable Energy Contract

AMPYR Solar Europe and VW Kraftwerk GmbH have announced the signing of a multi-year contract, supporting the expansion of renewable energy for a growing and sustainable electric vehicle fleet of the Volkswagen Group. The transaction will see VW Kraftwerk GmbH purchasing over 650,000 Guarantees of Origin (GoOs) – each representing the renewable energy attribute for 1 MWh – from three newly built projects in two countries over a period of ten years from AMPYR Solar Europe.

AMPYR Solar Europe will supply the GoOs from two of its Dutch solar plants, located in the municipalities of Noordoostpolder and Echt-Susteren, and from one of its German solar plants in Saxony.

For AMPYR Solar Europe, the deal further highlights the company’s position as one of Europe’s fastest-growing Independent Power Producers (IPPs). The partnership with an industry-leading, globally operating corporation such as VW Kraftwerk GmbH demonstrates the central role AMPYR Solar Europe can play, using its deep experience in the renewable energy and power markets to help companies meet their net zero ambitions.
