The Opportunity
The Land Acquisition Manager lays the basic commercial foundation for projects by continuously developing a pipeline of qualified land positions (deals) to be developed into promising project sites (projects).
The Land Acquisition Manager is responsible for identifying and capturing land suitable for the realization of a solar park. From prospect or lead to the transfer of a closed land agreement to the Development Manager. The Land Acquisition Manager strives to build its own network but is also regularly presented with warm leads. In addition, the Land Acquisition Manager proactively thinks along in the development and elaboration of new 'business opportunities', such as double use of land or new forms of cooperation.
In a proactive and commercial manner, the Land Acquisition Manager strives for optimal results and customer satisfaction. The Land Acquisition Manager enjoys building bridges and easily establishes contact with our target groups; landowners, energy cooperatives and municipalities, among others. By critically analysing each prospect or lead, the focus is always on the most promising locations.
Job Responsibilities
Market Exploration
Identification of potential areas for solar parks in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg
Tracking developments and trends in the market, competitor activities, customer needs, etc
Collaborate with the Development Manager to establish contact with municipalities, provinces and energy cooperatives and determine early success rate of sites
Exploring new business opportunities and collaboration possibilities
Planning, preparation and joint implementation of information events and trade fair presentations
Realisation of sales targets
Proactively (cold) approach landowners and prospects
Follow up on (warm) leads
Negotiation of leasing, use, design and urban development contracts with landowners and authorities
Advising potential partners on the realization of a solar farm on their land
Cooperation in the development and realization of new strategies and business models in coordination with the department management
Relationship Management
Actively build, maintain and expand relationships with landowners
Project presentations to local politicians and municipal administrations up to the point of a decision to prepare a development plan
Organising and leading project kick-offs after deal closing
Contact person for property owners in all phases of a project
Administration
Processing every contact and capture details in the Company's CRM system
Record details regarding developments in the market and with specific clients
Record customer commitments, explaining appointments to fellow departments as necessary
Create and communicate timely and accurate quotations
Cooperate with other Company Departments
Requirements
2-5 years of relevant work experience
Professional experience in acquisition, also career starters and career changers desired
Knowledge of the solar and/or agricultural sector
Strong negotiation, influencing, and commercial skills
IT literate, experience with Microsoft Office suite
Proactive working style, able to take initiative, work unsupervised and get things done
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in verbal and written German. Knowledge of English will be considered a plus
Ability to engage, create and maintain work relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
Team working skills, able to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues
Valid class B driver's licence and willingness to travel on a regular basis across the country
